OSP are runners up in versatility tournament

On Sunday 12 May members of the club, spanning all of our three teams entered the versatility tournament, held at Central Venue. We are proud to say we came runners up, beating a number of very strong teams. Below is a full report of the day.

Versatility Team May 2013

We had eight games in the morning of which we only lost one, to Brize who were the eventual tournament winners. That made us runners up for the first session putting us into the Cup playoffs along with 3 very strong teams (Trinity and Brize who both had several of their SE Region players and Vale).

We played really well beating both Vale and Trinity but lost to Brize in the final 7-4.

Everyone played so well and kept a positive attitude throughout…we found ourselves behind in 3 of the games but each time turned things around in the second half and came away winning.  Being the nature of versatility, we were all out of position but I think that the reason we did so well was applying the basics from all of our teams; good communication, keeping a positive  and supportive attitude on court, coming forward for the ball and finally having fun and enjoying ourselves!

All in all a very good day for OSP, despite the rain!
